Local TV - making it happen

Local TV is about bottom-up engagement with LOCAL capabilities, where the stakeholders are the entire local community.
Information TV joined the bidders for the DCMS Local TV initiative, but unlike the majority of other companies expressing interest, the company is a broadcaster that has already made Local TV happen. And this, two years before anything will emerge under Government plans and without excessive funding, new legislation or regulatory changes. We already carry locally produced and targeted TV programmes.
Our Proposition As a starting point, on our Showcase 2 channel (Sky 203) between 18.00 and 21.00 hrs, we aim to support and develop a genre of Local TV programming. We do however, appreciate that many new Local TV initiatives will be in start-up mode and will take time to develop the necessary business models to support the production and broadcast costs. But, Information TV is committed to realising its vision of how Local TV can work and is therefore prepared to bear some of these costs with you through offering;
- a lower entry level airtime rate; or - a revenue share model, where we bear some of the risk with you.
Together we can make Local broadcast TV happen, and we can do it now!
